Far Western Nurseries, located in Visalia, CA, has been producing the highest quality trees and vines for the past 50 years. Far Western has a long history of firsts - such as the first of its kind BIGROOT© 2 year old grapevine. The BIGROOT© vines are grown in our nursery for 2 years - which means you are capable of producing grapes a year earlier than normal grapevines.
Whether own rooted or our field budded BigRoot© grafted grape varieties, our quality is unparalleled in the industry. All of our nursery stock comes form our own increase blocks and is derived from the Foundation Plant Services at UC Davis. Working closely with the CDFA (California Department of Food and Agriculture), our increase blocks are tested annually to ensure we maintain clean plant selections.
Our walnut trees are the highest quality available to commercial growers. Our experience in grafting and propagating walnuts creates the best, the biggest and the most productive trees on the market. We will custom graft rootstocks to fulfill your planting needs. Here are Far Western we grow our rootstocks for one full season then the following spring the rootstocks are field grafted and grown for second season. Our grafted vines are fast growing with strong graft unions and roots, which is why we call our 2 year old grafted vines “BigRoot”.
